Longtime Kelso resident Lonnie Lee Jarrell, 76, passed away Dec. 17, 2018, at Vibra Specialty Hospital in Portland.
He was born May 31, 1942, in Dexter, Mo., to Curtis Lee and Ruth Esther (Arnold) Jarrell. Lonnie graduated from Kelso High School in 1960 and proudly served in the Army from May 1964 to May 1966.
Lonnie was a technical tradesman working through Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 26 until retiring in 2007. He genuinely enjoyed talking with anyone, and was always eager to offer his help with mechanical projects. He was guided throughout his life by a strong faith and will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
Lonnie is survived by a daughter, Amanda Jarrell; two granddaughters, Acacia Pottschmidt and Saran Pottschmidt; four siblings, Rose Marie Covel, Clara Jo Manning, Jerry Ray Jarrell and Emma Lou Fields; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Cascade Northwest Funeral Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. A viewing is planned from 11 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.
