What We Do

What UA 26 Does

UA Local 26 represents skilled plumbers, pipefitters, steamfitters, gas fitters, marine fitters, and HVAC/R professionals throughout Western Washington. We work to strengthen the piping industry by supporting our members, partnering with responsible contractors, advancing high standards of training and safety, and helping ensure that every member is treated fairly and with respect.

Supporting and Representing Our Members

UA Local 26’s leadership and office staff advocate for members throughout every stage of their careers. The Local negotiates and administers collective bargaining agreements, protects workplace rights, assists with contract questions and grievances, connects members with employment and training resources, and helps members understand their wages, benefits, and responsibilities.

The Local also keeps members informed about union meetings, industry developments, workplace issues, and opportunities to become involved. Through representation, advocacy, organizing, and member services, UA Local 26 works to protect the standards that allow skilled tradespeople and their families to build secure futures.

The Work Our Members Perform

UA Local 26 members install, maintain, service, and repair the piping and mechanical systems that keep our communities operating. Their work includes commercial and service plumbing, steamfitting, pipefitting, HVAC, refrigeration, and related piping systems.

Local 26 members work on schools, hospitals, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, public infrastructure, and other essential projects throughout Western Washington. From water, gas, and medical-gas piping to heating, cooling, refrigeration, and complex mechanical systems, our members bring extensive training, professionalism, and a commitment to safety and quality to every job.
